The idea for Ottobre did not materialize overnight. It is based on nearly twenty years of experience with children, children's clothing and children's culture. It is made up of nostalgic childhood memories, a touch of the enchantment of fairy tales, and a lot of hard work. All this is combined with modern technology to create OTTOBRE -- A SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL SHOP! In contrast to the overall abundance and disarray of everyday living, Ottobre is based on a desire to offer genuine articles and experiences to both children and adults. The idea was actualized in February, 1987, when we launched the fashion design agency STUDIO TUUMAT LTD. We designed clothes for the clothing industry, but also manufactured our own line of children's clothing called VattuMato. These clothes are cheerful and colorful and made from natural fibre materials. The OTTOBRE -shop gradually stemmed from the VattuMato -collection and its ideology, and brought with it a whole range of clothes, socks, tights, and shoes by other designers. Later our product range was complemented by a nice selection of toys and accessories for the nursery. In fact, Ottobre is more than just a children's clothing store -- we offer LIFESTYLE. We at Ottobre have expertise and a genuine interest in children. We focus on quality and good customer service. As parents ourselves -- mothers and fathers -- we are able to distinguish between genuine and artificial, hardwearing and non-durable. We believe that even in fashionable clothing it is possible to combine quality with esthetics, and esthetics with practicality. When choosing items for our collections we make sure that they are produced in an ecologically and ethically sustainable manner. While not all of our clothes are "naturally" produced, we emphasize the importance of protecting the environment and observing the European standards for environmental conservation during the production process The materials for the collections are tested in advance and the clothes are sewn in Europe. Quality control is continuous and persistent . Most of our manufacturers have been in the business for decades, which is in itself proof of reliability.
